Personal Development and Health

It's well established that having a body you are happy with pays dividends for your personal life, improving your self-esteem and confidence. The effect on other people is to make your company more emotionally rewarding to them. They will then seek to spend more time with you because you are fun to be with.

Rightly or wrongly, the modern fashion is that it's best to be slim. Even if you are the sort of person who prefers not to follow the crowd, modern fashion affects us deeply, if subliminally. Nearly all of us would like an attractive body - a body with little fat on it.

If you decide to lose weight, you will reap a double benefit from exercising.

Exercise increases your metabolic rate and when your metabolic rate rises, you burn calories more quickly than normal.

If you exercise for more than half an hour, your body's metabolic will be raised for a few hours. So, even though you have exercised for only 35 minutes or so, your body will burn calories faster than normal for several hours. This will help you lose weight much more effectively than dieting alone could.

The double benefit of exercise is that as you become fitter, you become more assertive and confident. Your body feels stronger and this makes you feel emotionally stronger too.

There are many mentors out there working as confidence coaches and life coaches. You can save yourself a great deal of money simply by getting yourself fit. The boost you'll get from this will be at least equal to the confidence boost you could get from a skilled life coach.
